As someone who appreciates a delicious drink, I have always been fascinated in cocktails. Even though I don’t drink regularly, I’ve found that I spend more time watching videos on how drinks are made rather than actually drinking them! So I thought I would put my knowledge to the test.
The Americano is a simple cocktail made up of Campari, sweet vermouth and soda water. The drink dates back to the 1860s, where the creator Gaspare Campari first served the drink in his bar Café Campari. Known then as the Milano-Torino, the name comes from the mixture of the key ingredients origins (Campari from Milan and vermouth from Turin). The cocktail is very unique to its region as Campari is the reason for its existence. This drink has gained a lot of popularity over years thanks to references in James Bond and its popularity with American soldiers.

The cocktail was very simple to make, even in a large quantity. Even though it was a fast process, I did gain a lot of satisfaction making the drink. It was more the anticipation of what others would think about the drink, which added to the joy.
Overall, it was a hit! I felt that 20 cups was going to be enough, but that wasn’t the case. The feedback was very positive with people telling me that they will make the drink at home.
In hindsight, I would’ve preferred to present the drink in a glass instead of a plastic cup and serve the drink with ice. Although, given the limitations I was very happy with how it turned out and it definitely had Maximum flavour!
